Candice Burrows is a children’s book author from Nassau, Bahamas. Born and raised in The Bahamas, she traveled to Canada for higher education before returning home to enter the hospitality industry. Writing has always been a creative outlet for Candice—a way to explore her own feelings and observations about life. She draws inspiration from everyday interactions with her children, family, and down-home island living. To date she has written three children’s books, each one illustrated by a talented local Illustrator. In 2011, inspired by her desire to communicate with her eldest daughter using baby sign language Candice wrote her first book, Porkchop Learns to Sign, illustrated by the gifted Rebecca Armbrister. Currently Candice is working on a book series with Internationally renowned artist Judith Papillon. Published in 2019 Cocoplum the Swimming Pig is the first book in this series.
