Emily Waisanen is thrilled to be a contributor to The Children’s Writer’s Guild Online. Emily’s first picture book entitled “The Book Monster” was inspired by her own two daughters and combines two of her favorite activities: reading and eating! As a middle school English teacher, Emily has a passion for writing and reading children’s literature and sharing that passion with her students. She loves the challenge of selecting the right book for the right reader and often becomes overly exuberant when teaching a lesson about something seemingly mundane, such as proper comma use. Emily resides in Wisconsin with her husband and children.
