Woodland Sanctuary – a poem

I love to take a walk,
Into a wooded land,
Sit beside a waterfall,
Moss beneath my hand.
The sound of rushing water,
And song birds fills my ears,
The peaceful sight erases,
All of my doubts and fears.
Smooth grey rocks to sit upon,
Cool water for my toes,
Dappled sunlight to warm me,
When the mountain breezes blow
Perhaps I’ll be blessed,
With the sight of a forest herd,
I promise to sit quietly,
I’ll utter not a word.
This is nature at her best,
My wooded wonderland
The place I find my serenity,
When life gets out of hand.
