Convergence

the work and its author

Convergence began as an illusion piece. It originated in pencil. The idea developed from all the ice we had during the past winter, which caused numerous potholes in the street. With the completion of the crevice, I wanted the viewer to experience the rush of water converging into the space. The first version didn’t include color. It needed a snap. The second version was only blue, but it craved more. The bits of squiggles gave the water a feel of movement. I hope you will delight in the spring pop of color and let your imagination carry you away. How deep is the crevice and what kind of creatures live down there? It’s up to you to tell the rest of the story.
